I have a 1998 Wolvy 350 that has an outer CV joint clicking so I have disassembled and have the CV Shaft on the bench. I am having a extremely hard time getting that outer CV Joint off the shaft. I have had it in vise hitting it with a brass punch and she will not come apart.

Is there any trick to this?

They sell a CV Shaft with the outer CV joint Installed and with the boot kit to do the inner joint.

Is the inner joint easier to get off than the outer?

 

Did You remove the snap ring that holds the joint on?
