Question Should i keep my Warrior?

I just got my warrior rebuilt. It was bored, with new piston and rings, new valves, new starter and starter clutch, rebuilt clutch, and many other things. I recently replaced the chain, sprockets, and axle myself. Right now my warrior is getting the stator and coil replaced. Its a 97, i bought it used for 1100, and ive dumped easily 2000 in parts and labor. I was wondering would it be worth keeping, or should I sell it and get something with less problems? If i did sell it, would I get my moneys worth???? Any help appreciated!

If you sold then you would have to change your name! lol

I don't think that you would get more than $1500 for it. There are so many cheap 20XX Raptors and Z400s and 450s out there now that the Warrior seems to have dropped back in the demand list.

It's obvious that you have put a lot of money and work into your quad. If the new stator and coil get it running good you might as well keep it.

Just my $.02

I would keep it if I were you. With all that work done I would feel pretty darn confident that it was going to last. Buying another one you'd be starting all over again not knowing the day to day history of it.---my .02cents---Dave

You might get 1/2 of your $3100.00 investment back if you are lucky selling it. As long as you are happy with the performance i would just keep it. if you buy another used there is a chance the new machine may need another 2k in work.

You'll never get your money back, so just ride it for a while.

with all that money invested into it, why sell it? you have to keep in mind it is a 97' you wont get much even though you've dumped quite some money and work to it. just keep it, and save up for another bike.

Thats the painful truth there....we have all experienced it.

The warrior is a darn good quad and it sounds like youve replaced all the most often worn out parts.....it should be mostly smooth sailing (or riding) at this point. Buying another quad, no matter how good it looks, could mean starting all over. I ride utility ATVs so Ive had better luck buying used - Im assuming thats cause they arent rode as hard.

Ive got a 1978 Suzuki DR370 that I bought cheap and my story is same as yours. Gave $225 for it.....have about $900 in it as it sets now. Runs great, new brakes, sprockets, chain, rubber, CDI box etc......but no way in hell is this bike work $900. I would be lucky to get $500 out of it....

Ive got a few road bikes like that to.....
