Default Should I buy 88 warrior

Looking at getting a different wheeler. Do a lot of riding on the river and some woods trails. What im looking at is an 88 warrior. It is in excellent shape. The bike is stock except for the pipe. Last summer the bike was gone through with a carb cleaning, new plugs small maintenence like that. He wants 1500 for it. I have heard that they are not the fastest bikes and the suspension sucks but I will probly die on a real fast one and I guarantee the suspension is better that I have now. I think this would be quite an upgrade to my 85 yamaha 200 moto 4. The moto 4 is a solid frame with no suspension is why I want to get rid of it. Tell me what you think I can't find alot on what the warrior is worth.

They are fun machines for what they are and would be an upgrade from what you currently are riding. The Price seems high for the year. Go to Search Tempest - The EASY way to search Craigslist! and search all of craigslist for a defined radius and see what you can find listed for a warrior.

In my area (PA) I can find a good shape 2001 for $1400.

Have fun!

My brother in law just bought a 2000 Warrior for $900 off craigs list, the guy was asking $1300. I think you should be able to get it for under $1000.

That's a lot of money for an '88. The 1990-up models had some improvements over the'87-89, I would try to hold out for one of them for the same price or less.

try talking him down on the price but I would take it for that much anyways, I really wanted an 88 or 87 warrior in the first place but there is nothing wrong with my 00 warrior its fast, torquey and and in my opinion a good look bike even though it still has a dated look.

thats a good bit for a warrior....specially with it being one of the older ones, unless its in really good shape i would pass that up.

In ATV it goes buy condition, not year like a car. A 88 is excellent shape is worth more the a 2000 in fair condition.
The warrior never really changed over the years so a 2000 will not have any mechanical advantage over a 1988.

If someone had a crated zero miles 1989 350 4x4 Big bear for sale I would pay more for it then a 2003 Big Bear with 2000 miles on it.

I finally got some details on it supposedly it is in great shape. No engine work other than a pipe. The plastic is a little faded but no cracks. Good tires in back and decent in the front. New battery, carb cleaning, plug. He said maybe to think about replacing the chain. I guess it has not been rode in several years and he took it in to the pros and got it all fixed up to either sell or start riding again. He isnt 100 percent sure he wants to sell it. Im still waiting on pictures.
