Question Rear mounted winch for wolverine 450?

Does anyone know of a winch that comes with rear mounting plates for a wolvy 450? The front mounted ones sit so low that even if it is sealed, mud an dirt will still get in there over time.

No one makes a rear winch mount plate that I have found...you will have to make a custom plate if you want one, but why mount a winch on the rear?

Well the only place to mount a winch on the wolvy is way down low where rocks or logs could hit it and most the puddles I go through would be well above the winch and even with a sealed motor, over time the mud and stuff would get inside the winch So the back seems a more reasonable place for a winch.

i'm assuming you've had prior experience to winches failing when mounted too low? none of my friends have ever had any issues with theirs and they are always in water/mud deeper then the winch, and they've had theirs on their bikes for over 5 years......you can make a custom mount plate, but i'd be careful where you mount it on the back as the rear frame isn't as braced up as the front as far as winch mounting goes....

Try a Tiger Tail rather than a winch.

well my good friend had a sealed warn winch but over about a year period it gave out and when he opened it up it had mud and dirt everywhere. I guess you have to clean the winch every so often? IMO though that seems like a real pain. Can anyone who has had experience with winches recommend one for me?

i've got a chicago electric 3,000 lb winch on my quad and so far no issues? only had it for 4 months but its been submerged a few times and seen its share of mud and no issues, i do make sure when i take it to the power wash i go over it a lil extra, but the unit itself seems to be sealed extremely well...
