i got a 2001 warrior i just changed engines i put a 1989 engine in it after i changed them after i hooked evreything up when i turned the key on both the reverse and nutual light come on then when i went to start nothing i checked to see if it had spark none when i put the bike into reverse the reverse light goes off when i put it in gear the nutual light goes out. but all the lights come on meaning front and breakcan someone please help me the bike started up fine before tare down evreything worked i hade cracked the case so just got another engine

 

Thought it would a easy swap did you mix the wires?

 

the wiring harness was different throughout the years so thats most likely your problem, the connections to the CDI, Stator maybe Rectifier could be the problem, alot of the wiring was different it cain be a real pain at time when your dealing with that stuff.

 

I agree. You need to use the stator off of the 2001 engine if you have it and if it is any good.
