Default Improving throttle Response on a Raptor 700

FINALLY, I got my Barkers and Power Commander III for my Raptor. Well I raced it this weekend a bit and was beating just about every bike out there.

However when I was setting up some jumps, it would bog or sputter.

I got a Fuel Map from Tim Barker himself and it was labeled to remove the airbox lid (I did so) but sometimes again the bike would sputter. I just looking to make the throttle response ..."responsive', no boggging or sputtering.

One thing to note I have a pro-design foam filter and the amount of dust out there was incredible not sure if that plays a role in my small problem.

Depending on how much dust was collected on the filter that could cause the problem. Also, with those fuel maps they are basically a starting point. With my experience with either my outlander and my raptor is they are all different. One map will be spot on with the mods and the same map on a different bike with the same mods is off. They are all different depending on the bike, altitude, temps, ect. Your best bet would be to find a reputable tuner and have him set it.

Thanks Geoman, I am considering of throwing in a piston (one that would allow 91 octane) before doing something like that. Just something to give it a bit more "oomph".

I may try another map... this is my first dealing with EFI and sending maps to the unit is butter smooth simple. I guess if it doesn't work out I can always revert to the previous mapping. Ahhhh they beauty of technology...

While your in there doing the piston drop a cam in as well. With the piston I would go HCIII, it is about the best you can dowithout getting the head and rockers clearanced and to get the full benefit from teh larger cams you would want to have the heads ported anyway.

I run a 12:1 CP piston on mine on 91 octance with no issues at 1000 ft. Don't go any higher if you want to run pump gas. Tech quad shop also sells an 11.5:1 piston that a lot of guys are running for pump gas builds.
