Default 99 350 Wolverine carb

I found a problem, there is a plastic cover on one side that has something to do with the vacuum, well it has a crack in it. I didnt have much time to do anything so what im planning is to silicon it to see if that infact is my problem, if it is I will need to seal it with something a little more heat resistant, any ideas on what to use. I have been having carb issues for a while now and I believe this is why.
