Red face Big bear 350 4x4 making alot of noise!

hey all. just went for a morning ride. and noticed there is ALOT of rattleing in my bottom area of my engine. and near my back axle. i was told once it could be my gears in the gearbox,( thing attached to Rear Axle.)

any idea what could be causing it or what it is?

almost sounds like something is rubbing/hitting something else. hard to explain lol

thanks again

Default swing arm bearings

I had a noise coming from that area on my wolverine...turned out to be the bearings out of the swingarm...when I would gas the quad the drive shaft would rub in the tube going to the rear differential...I am not aware with the set-up of the big bear rear end...if the swing arm bearings are bad you will be able to move quad side to side a bit by pulling on the rear rack...quad will move but the rear wheels/swingarm will not! Good luck with your work!

well from what i know it doesnt swing at all, pretty sturdy really. But when i had the bike propped up and rev'd her, it wasnt making a LOUD noise like it usually does when driving. which makes me more believe its the gearbox/case in the back rubbing together when there is pressure ie : sitting on it and riding. hope im not crazy though!

Default Diff Fluid

I guess then that I would start by making sure that there is fluid in the rear differential. What year is the quad? What type of suspension does it have on the rear? There has to be some type of suspension...I was just assuming that it had a swingarm with a single shock b/c that was the technology of the time when the 350 Big Bears were built.
