Has anyone experienced a problem with 2nd gear going out on the Raptor? Lost mine this weekend and am wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem.

 

no problems yet but by any chance did your trans going out have anything to do with reverse? also how often do you use your reverse. i have talked to alot of people on this and the ones that have the probs usually is cause of using reverse. just trying to prove my theory. maybe i am wrong but maybe not.

 

Once in a while I hit a neutral between 4th and 5th

 

The only problem I have had was When I put it in 1st or reverse the bike or chain pops. is this normal?

 

I have also experienced that prior to the 2nd gear prob. When changing from 4th to 5th it will jump back into 4th.

 

I have had reverse grind and have to put it back in a few times. But not no problems in forward.

 

How the heck do you hit neutral between 4th and 5th?! thats pretty weird...

 

I have'nt had the problem after plenty of hard riding. What was you doing when you lost 2nd gear? Does your Raptor run hot? Where is your oil level at? What kind of engine oil do you use? Thanks.

 

My cuz transmission locked up last weekend. A piece of 4th gear got wedged in 5th gear. When u try to put in gear it would make a loud banging noise. Only gear he had was reverse. We rode home in reverse about a mile or so.

I've had the similar problem but it never popped out of reverse just a little grinding going in and when you put in in first(or whatever gear you were in) and don't pull out and you downshift it will pop right back in reverse.
