General info needed on the YFM200 moto4
Greetings, new to this forum. Purchased a 1985 YFM200 the other day for $500.00 Runs well, overall good shape, new tires and body is almost perfect. Just needs a few odds and ends like rear brakes, and a cable. First, where is a good place to purchase parts (internet sales). I ordered some the other day, and 10 days later still no parts.
Secondly, the starter is not hooked up. Looking at the starter it has 2 contacts, one toward the front and one toward the rear. I assume one is + and one is -. If it works like my tractor the positive runs from the solenoid, and the ground is ground. Not sure which one is the positive, can somebody advise. Thanks. Looking forward to browsing the forum.

You can buy the parts from that site too, I usually use ebay though.
This link shows exactly how to hook up the wiring harness:

Hi all,
I have a 1985 Yamaha YFM200. I got it from my uncle because he was moving and needed to get rid of it. It only needed a new battery and some overflow tuning on the carburator ( I also bought a new throttle cable but it turns out I didn't need it i just put the original cable in the wrong way oops.) I got it running by giving it some starting fluid. But there's two problems I really should fix. 1. The drive lever that selects forward or reverse will only move a little bit and then stops and it won't go into reverse ( yes it IS in first gear FYI.) Any advice would be awesome on that. 2. Tires. 1 tire will spit out the air as fast as it comes in, and 2 other tires will hold air for only about an hour. But the "Golden Tire" will hold air very well. So i've put in expanding foam in the tires to try to make them solid. But if you have any good ideas like maybe an exchange or something let me know.
