Cvj problem on 2000 grizzly 600
Hi. My right side constant velocity joint fell out of the differential gear box while I was riding. I am not sure what a good circlip looks like, but the retaining clip that was left on the CVJ shaft looks like a wire that circumvents the shaft only about 3/4 around. I plan to purchase a new circlip for this area. Can anyone tell me how to reinstall the CVJ into the differential gear box? Does the circlip merely compress allowing for the CVJ shaft to be pushed back into the gear box? Or, is there a lot more to it than that? Thanks, Jim

Thanks. I believe it is the internal clip. The groove in the shaft is approx. 1/4" from the innermost end of the shaft, and this is where the clip was attached. This groove is cut in the inner splines that go into the gear box a few inches. Yes, the front right CVJ fell completely out of the gear box along with the oil. The circlip (or part of the circlip) was still attached in the groove. I am not sure how much circlip was originally there, so I am concerned that some of it might be in the bottom of the gear box.
