I use a garden hose to wash out the fuel tank and then I use a vaccum that has an air outlet to dry the leftover water in the tank. I would also clean the petcock(fuel shutoff valve).

I bought an atv that the owner had just replaced the fuel tank on. I would clean the carb and it would run good then shortly afterward it would start running like crap. I cleaned that carb five times before I decided to take the fuel shutoff valve off. There were little specks of rust all over it, the previous owner replaced the rusted fuel tank but had left the same fuel petcock on it and the rust was going back into the carb.

Thanks again for the help. I wasn't aware I had to wait and let the bike sit after adjusting the idle screw. To be honest I don't think this thing could run 10 minutes without me on the throttle. I'll play around with that a bit and report back. When you say 2.5 turns is that 2.5 back off or 2.5 threaded on?

Another thought...if I have crap in my fuel couldn't I get one of those little red briggs and stratton in line fuel filters and cut my fuel line install that and hose clamp it on?
