Default battery question

I want to hook up a car battery to my quad. Will the difference in CCA, 160 vs. 600, hurt anything? My thought is 12 volts is 12 volts so should be ok. This is just temporary. I had the quad battery load tested and indicated it needed a charge but still had 100 CCA left in it but when I hooked it up I got nothing, no engine roll, no "click", no nothing. Headlight comes on but is dim and the winch still works. Does this sound like a battery thing or something else? Better ask you experts before moving on. Thanks...

I have seen people jump start ATVs off of cars and trucks many times, it hurts nothing. The more CCA the better. The exspensive aftermarket ATV batteries have 300 CCA.

You're correct...12 volts is 12 volts.
The CCA is a measure of reserve capacity--think of it as a fuel tank. The larger the fuel tank, the longer the battery can supply power before running dry.
