You may have the auto matic clutch slipping and it isn,t adjustable.

The description of turning the clutch freeplay adjustment all the way to the left then 1/8 turn right is not entirely correct. Youd will see the words "Increas/Decrease" and arrows showing the rotation for each, you want to "decrease" freeplay by loosening the jamnut, then turning the slotted threaded bar until you just feel resistance, then turn back 1/8 turn, hold it steady while you lock it down with the nut. That should put you in the correct freeplay setting for your auto clutch. I have the same setup on my Wolverine, but in all the years I have owned it, I may have played with that only once or twice, never had any clutch related problems.
