I just recently acquired a 2002 660. it apparently had the carb all rebuilt but runs extremely rich put a new plug in and is completely black. wont accelerate just boggs, have completely disassembled the carb and cleaned, main jet is a 153.8 and pilot is 55 does this seem right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you located at? Whats the altitude in your area? Did you purchase this quad locally? Any other mods, air filter/intake,exhaust? Need some more info.Just a quick idea, could be bad gas the fule quality these days is junk try draining the gas in the tank and replacing it with new/fresh fuel.

I am located in alberta. I have already drained all fuel, flushed the fuel tank. That was my first thought as well. I am at 2200ft of elevation. This machine has been running the same since it was apparently tuned up this last summer. Apparently all new jets. No other mods to quad at all. Was purchased locally.

air filter clean? did you check the crankcase for gas in oil? alot of times the needle and seat go bad and gas will fill the airbox and crankcase , causing very rich condition, pull the dipstick and smell it to see if it smells like gas, is oil over full? whats the air screw set at its on the bottom of carb, should be 2 to 2.5 turns out, may still have a brass plug over it if so you can drill plug and screw a sheet metal screw in it and remove with vice grips
