88 Warrior 350, is it worth it?
#1
Hello everybody, i been trying to get rid of my dirtbike for a quad and i finally got someone willing to trade. I am wondering if it is worth trading a 600$ bike for. Here is what i was told: "88 won't start. needs carb cleaned for sure and probably a battery and new starter. I used a battery from another quad and it cranked real slow. We caught it in gear and it would only run with the choke on all the way. It has good tires, new a arm bushings, swingarm bushings, chain, sprockets, shock bushings, rear axle bearings, chain guide, and linkage bearings that only have 5 minutes of ride time on them. I refuse to put another dime into it. Also has new rear brakes. " Was told it has scratches on the plastics but no breaks. he's been able to jump start it. I figured if i took apart the carb, mainly the bowl and cleaned it out including the jet, it should fix the choke issue and it running issue. I am mainly worried about the starting issue. i've read that it could be the starter it's self, or a "starter clutch". i am new to quads and able to work on things. i have tools and time, just not sure if it would be worth putting time into it. Please let me know what you think and what you think of the issues with it. Also maybe give me common things that go wrong with this year range warrior. Thank you.
