I e-mailed highlifter for more info on the Un-Locker
and I thought I would share it with everybody. I called and placed my order.

Thanks for your email about our new Detroit Un-Locker.

All of the information that we have at this time is posted on our website at
www.highlifter.com.

Though the unit has been in testing and development for over a year, all
production details are not finalized yet but the price is expected to be
between $350 and $450, depending on options and ATV model. We expect to
have more demand than initial production so we are taking orders (but not
money) to reserve your unit.

Before we start shipping we will call to verify shipping information,
confirm the final price, and arrange for payment.

We will post additional details on our site as they become available. We
are getting so many emails about the Detroit Un-Locker that we can't answer
them individually. If you want to reserve a unit call our sales department
at 800-699-0947 and get on the list. The Honda 450 unit will be out first
(this Spring) with other models to follow as quickly as possible.

I found out a little more info, on the unlocker,
and as of today they do not have plans to make one for the wolverine. That is not in the next 90 days, but could be in the works after that. Saleman I spoke with will mention the phone call I placed about getting one in the works. The amount of phone calls they get about the wolverine will obviously influence the speed at which one will be made. The point of switching from 2x4 to 4x4 will be in the area of the front driveshaft and not the
differential or hubs... So call them up and be heard........

Man,can't wait to hear how well it works. How would the system engage from 2wd to 4wd? Would it be like the Kodiak or some other manual system, maybe like the suzuki 250 4by?

The salesman told me that it would be cable operated. This would take place between the motor and the front diff. He said that it would have something to do with the driveshaft.....and this can be done on the fly..

So I imagine that it would be like the Kodiaks push button system with sensors. Well when it comes out, I'll be eager to hear about it. Do you have yours on order? When you get it, let us know how it works and try to get some photos of the kit. Actually, they probably have it on the highlifter sight.

L8ter..

There are phone numbers on the highlifter site.
These numbers are associated with people in different departments. I called the new products line I think and expressed my interest in the unlocker. Do the same and this will help the cause. I wanted to order but would not take the order yet, they want to see what the interest is like.
