Blaster Question
#2
The 2003-2006 models have Hydraulic front and rear brakes.... a major plus. Other than that, the only noticeable changes were the hard mounted headlight on those same year models, as opposed to the handle bar mounted headlight on the previous ones..... I've had both and like the handle bar mounted best for moving visibility (turn the bars, light up where you're going... a big help in the dark), but the hard mounted ones are much better looking on the machine....

i have an 01 blaster and i WOULD not suggest a a blaster for a woman rider unless shes tough as nails. My buddy has an 05 blaster (the newer style) and i can say its not much better. They are geared pretty high and when you get going fast it feels like your about to fall apart and them blasters are hard to stop, most have break problems, and they are mostly rough as a cob. I'd say get you a good 300ex or something on craigslist for somewhere around 1500. But if you've rode one before, you know what im talking about
, but i do love blasters... But the a 300ex in that price range will have hydraulic brakes, good shocks, and nothing can beat that honda dependibility.

you are corect about the suspension on the blaster they are a rough ride but with a lil work they arent bad mine actualy has honda suspension on the back now
as for the gearing that can be easily changed with new sprockets an an after market pipe made for topend speed i would suggest the newer models with the hydraulic brakes its a pain to convert the older models over

Like they said, blaster's are really fun if you are a good rider and can control it. If you are new to the scene, like your girlfriend is? Go for an automatic clutch quad, like the polaris scrambler. If you can't find one of those or something with an automatic clutch, Honda 300ex and Yamaha Warrior's are good buys. Electric start, Reverse, hydraulic brakes, the whole nine yards. Hope that helps!

i dont know, my sister's first ride was with a clutch, shes obsessed with shifting through them gears now.

Hi all!
Sweet summer here in Africa, but I digress...
We have the "new" 4 stroke "Blaster" here for a few years already. It's a 250cc, same as the 2 wheeler. Very nice ride and just as fun as the older 2T's. Maybe an option as set up is softer and awesome for entry level.
If that doesn't work, a 400 LTZ or similar is a good option. Mine has been ridden by small boys {under strict supervision, I may add} and hooligans alike. It's bulletproof and she won't outgrow it like she will a Blaster.
Cheers, gotta go ride in the sunshine now
