OK. Let's start it. I hate my front brakes. The spongy feeling and the need to grab the lever with full hand are the 2 things I hate.
Are all banshees like that (spongy feel and should called slowers rather than brakes)?
I hear about steel braided lines. They will give me a more "rigid" feeling, that's for sure, but little added braking power. What diameter are the brake lines? I can have steel braided lines (my dad wirks in a brake company) for virtually nothing, but need to know the inside diameter of the stockers.
What about oversized discs? I'm talking only about the fronts. Could I fit bigger discs and caliper inside the rim? Who makes them? I heard that 250R discs are bigger and fit (but where do I find a caliper bracket????), I also saw an add about oversize disc (w/ caliper bracket) from RPM, and does Braking make big discs (my preference would be for them)?
Thanks for any input about this (I remembered that I sould be able to stop before I accelerate)
PS: all pads are new and already "broken in".

Hehe, I have the same problem, I think it is just that you are going so fast that it seems like the brakes do not work that good!

Zorro, I had the same problem when my Banshee was new. I thought it was just "that way". I checked other peoples Banshees and they were more firm. Also, my Warrior which seems to be the same is very firm. What I did was bled the lines and adjusted the screw on the lever that pushes in the plunger in the reservior and that helped a lot but still not like it should be.

Not sure about the diameter, but the steel braided lines make a night and day difference. esp on the front. I put them on my banshee all you have to do is slightly touch them. there is no spongy feel. Touch them and you are stopped, grab them and you will go over.

I havent really looked into this, But you may be able to take a front brake cylinder off a streetbike and put on your banshee.. Off of an R6 or something, That would probably provide much greater breaking pressure..
