Default problem with Warn Winch A2000

I have a Warn Winch A2000 mounted on Yamaha Kodiak 1992. I have been using the winch to lift snow plow blade. In the last month I noticed the winch would continue to spool line ( for couple to four seconds) in even after I had stopped with the spool in ****. last week the winch quit operating period. neither the spool in or out operates at this point.
Ideas or suggestions as to what could be causing the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Even though it is late winter here in northern British Columbia we may get a good dump of snow or two yet!

welcome to the forum. the a2000 warn which uses the big grey **** were known to have issues(the **** that is). maybe take it off to check for bad connections or corrsion. but it might just be it's gone bad. they do sell replacements if you can find them like on ebay. if the winch it self is fine they also offer an upgrade to make the winch a 2,500 lb one changing the wiring and contacter w/ a new style thumb rocker switch.
