When I first start my 99 Warrior, it seems to not want to get in gear. If I pull the clutch in and go for first it just "click click click etc." If I go into reverse, it just starts going in reverse -clutch still in. After a few minutes of warming up and riding, everything appears to work fine. I can hold a gear w/ clutch in and stay still. Any ideas to why the clutch would not seem to grab?

I would first change your case oil. Use a GOOD oil. A good oil wil cost you about $7 o $8 a quart, but it is worth it. You will notice a difference after one ride. You can get any of these oils from your yamaha dealer. If that does not work I would have the clutch adjusted.

Sorry. I did put 2.6qts of fresh Yamalube in before. Maybe it is just out of adjustment? I may also need a new cable. The adjuster on the lever is all the way screwed in and the clutch throw has a 25% pull range (from the lever out position, if I pull the clutch in about 25% it disengages). I have not touched the adjustment on the case yet.

I'd make sure that the reverse lever is fully engaging forward. That click click noise is what you get when reverse is kind of "in between" forward and reverse. Could be a bunch of other things like sticky clutch but the clicking noise sounds reverse related. Good luck.
