Just got my first ATV, a 2001 Warrior. Need to know what suggestions for first mod should be. I've heard new exhaust will get me biggest gain in power. Any suggestions?? FMF, White Bros.?? Want biggest bang for my buck. I'm not racing, just tearing it up with my buddies, some hill climbs, trails, etc.

If you want a simple and inexpensive thing to do you could change out the stock air filter for a K&N setup. It will help =o)

 

Get a Pro Design pro flow adaptor,a K&N power kit,a Pro Circuit slip-on exhaust,and some new rear tires.I'd reccomend Bear Claws or Spider Tracs if you ride in mud or Holeshot XCT's if you do general trail riding. This will make a huge difference.

 

What should come first? Limited budget, over time I may do all, but I have to take one thing at a time. I don't want to sound ignorant but what is a "Pro Flow adaptor", "K&N Power Kit" and the "Pro Circuit Slip-on exhaust"? I know K&N makes performance filters, does the power kit include a jet kit?

Get the pro-flo adapter. I bought just a K&N for my Warrior, and I wish I had bought the adapter.
K&N makes a filter that fits into the stock filter location, but that location sucks. It's kind of a hassle to line the filter up, if it's mis-aligned, you'll suck in dirt, and you cannot drive with the airbox lid off.
With the pro-flo adapter, you'd get a clamp-on K&N filter. So, when it's secured, IT'S SECURED. No question. Plus you can remove the lid when wanted, without opening the filter's seal.

 

A K&N power kit includes a filter w/outerwear,jet kit,and filter cleaner and oil Moto-man has them for $100.I would say the tires would help the most and be a good start. You don't really need the exhaust although it would help.The pro flow is really just for protection.Oh ya get a PRM swingarm skid plate.

 

trick, if you're looking to extract as much horsepower as possible from your Warrior, then you DO need to invest in an aftermarket silencer. I have an FMF PowerCore. A lot of people also like the White Brothers E-Series. The jet kit isn't going to do much for you, if your exhaust is still constricted with the stock muffler. Speaking of that jet kit, save your money. A K&N filter is $30-$50. A K&N filter cleaning kit is $10. Main jets will run a couple bucks a piece. It's better to by the components seperately, in my opinion.

 

Hey WarMachine how do you u like your FMF Powercore? I might get one and wonder how much more Power it gives and how noisey it is?

A good after market pipe will do you wonders. As for the K&N power up kit it too will do great things for your power. The reason to buy the power up kit is that you get the air filter the outerwear a different slide needle with different jets to fine tune the air fuel mix, just a new main jet will not do you much good the new needle has a different tapper than stock with different clip position than stock. Money well spent!

 

First I would go with a different pipe. I got a LRd on my warrior.Then put a K@N air filter in when the stock one cause bad. If u want to spend the money get a Web cam which is a racing cam. Then go with a Dyno jet. If u want even more power go with a High corpression piston. I will be getting a piston. I have all of that besides the piston. I also gor some more mods. By the way I got a 1997 warrior. It run great. It will smoke a stock 400ex. It will keep up with my cousin 400ex, he hasa white bros. pipe, K@N air filter, and a jet kit.
