I am replacing a winch on my kodiak.. got a hold of a warn 1700 ( utility winch) that is shown on install diagram as wiring directly to battery,, i am assuming i should make use of the wiring that was in place from original warn winch to make use of the " contactor" .. I see on my battery set up that that one of the cables from battery to original winch appears to be connected to a " contactor" on way to winch.. would it be advisable to splice in to this line set up close to the winch? clear as mud?
