Default 1995 Timberwolf backfires

I have a 95 Timberwolf that ran really good last year. I was wrong in not running the fuel out the last time I ran it last year. I believe the carb may be gummed as it now runs rough and backfires. At first I thought it was not getting enough fuel and replaced the filter. I emptied the gas and put in new with some Sea Foam. It does run better, but still backfires and runs rough. Am I on the right track or should I bring it in for service? My plan was to let the sea foam sit in the bowl to soak and let it do it's thing and run it intermitenly until it smooths out. My appreciation in advance for any advice. Thanks...

Your best bet at this point is to either clean the float bowl, jets, passages by hand, or bring it to someone if you really don't feel comfortable. The Seafoam has helped but there is only so much it can do after you get a good bit of varnish and crud built up.
