I had a '99 KX100 before I had the raptor and loved it. I loved to jump and go trail riding with it. I miss the feel of a mx bike. I thought I would LOVE a quad(and I do) but miss the bikes. I have ridden a 2000 YZF 426 and LOVED it. These things got *****!!! Yamaha is supposed to be building a 2002 YZF 450 with a completely new engine and lighter than the current YZF 426. This my friend....would be sweet! I love my raptor and have had absolutly no trouble with it but miss the bike feel...I find it alot easier to jump a bike then a quad. A YZF 426 literally BURNS my raptor and I can only imagine what a LIGHTER and MORE POWERFUL one would be like...pure lightning!!! Oh I gotta stop thinking about this.....I'm gonna have a wet daydream.

I'd like to hear more about the YZF 450. Are you sure it's coming out in '02? I was kind of thinking the 426 was TOOOO FAST for trail riding, and now a 450? WOW!!!

 

It is a DEFINITE that Yamaha will make the 450F....actually....it is rumored that it is already designed...they are just waiting for the right time to release the new technology....just so the CR450F will not make anylast changes to copy it. It is either supposed to have and all new aluminum frame(not likely because Yamaha hated them) or Yamaha said they can make a steel frame that's lighter than and aluminum and stronger and won't vibrate as much. It is in just about every Dirtbike mag. that there is definitely one. Yamaha has told DirtRider exclusively that they ARE MAKING IT!....Raptor is definitly on it's way out the door. Imagine me....15...sold a Raptor to get a YZ450F....nuts huh?
