Default greasing axle splines?

i just replaced the right bearing and seal on a rear axle for yamaha timberwolf. im trying to put the axle back in. i have cleaned it up pretty good but im wondering whether i should be putting grease on the splines? is this a good idea? i have a friend that told me that its not recommended. that im better off just using some anit-seize compound on em and slide it into differential..any help is appreciated. thanks

I wouldn't put a grease fitting on the splines, Just smear some grease on em so it removes the possibility of it seizing on

I just greases the rear splines on my 350 Grizzly,I would rather of used "Never Seize" but had none around. Not sure how grease on a spline can do anything but help.

My Polaris manual says to grease them and if you seen one hub spline you seen them all.

You Can try greasing one side but not the other and see which hub pulls off the easiest years from now.

thanks for advice...i went and bout anti-seize lubricant and put some on the splines. what i cant get is the axle to go all the way thru. after putting the drum on, its not enough threads to fasten castle nuts....should i be pushing it in more or can i use and impact to sort of pull it thru...
