Default 96 wolverine making noise when I let off gas

I have a 96 wolverine and I've noticed when (mostly in 2nd gear & higher) I let off the gas it makes a rattle like noise from the front somewhere. Does n e body have n e idea where I need to start I've hit up the grease fittings & it didn't help. What next??

There are only so many moving parts on those things....are the u-joints still good in the front shaft? I would start of putting the thing up on jack stands and trying to get it to immitate while I can get close enough to hear exactly where it is coming from. Check wheel bearings too....mine was always hard on those and the u-joints!

Ty I will try that as soon as I can I got it used n just haven't had time to go over it but it does have a few issues the seal on the axel is leaking but for $800 can't complain too much, it kinda sounds like a rattle right where the front shaft is, it's also gettin kinda hard to shift into gears. I also need a rear break caliper but dnt want to spend new $

Update it is my front/rear u joint. But right behind it has a rattle also. Also when I'm n midrange rpms at a constant speed it starts missing. Just today it started slipping I noticed it in 2nd n higher and my dad said the rear end had some slop n it. What all do I need to do to get all this $h!t fixed(other than u joint)??????
