I would, but the Yamaha bearings and seals will run you over $150.00 vs about $60.00 for the aftermarket stuff. Axle, shock, swingarm bearings are all wear items that I try to change out before they get bad. I guess if you are not big on maintenance, the oem stuff may be better in the long run. I think either way it is the seals that wear out and let crud in that have always caused my bearings to go bad regardless of brand.

jtyfz, the fuel petcock is located on the left side of the machine, just up under the plastic where your knee generally rests when riding. You can adjust idle with the "pilot screw" on the parts diagrams. It may still be sitting under a separate cap, just a bit in front of the access to the main and slow jets. It is pretty common to replace this with an aftermarket piece that will make life much easier.

I see!!!
List price would be $170 or so.
I see it takes 2 bearing per side.

The reason they are a little wore out is because I just bought the bike and also I am a little confused on how to tighten the.chain? I was told that four bolts would have to come out of the very back is that right. Thank yall for all the help I am pretty mechanically inclined but not with these machines lol thank you All for helping the newb out

OK, seeins that it's a 06, it has a oval style bearing carrier.
You loosen the 4 bolts (#8 on the fiche) and you turn the carrier (#2) to tighten the chain. Then tighten the 4 bolts.
FYI: 1" of slack with the rider on the machine.
FYI: #2: I'd look into a nice Baldwin Motorsports complete bearing carrier when you do need to put bearings in.I'm sure he has good bearings too.
FYI #3: I'm unsure of the swingarm design, but sometimes there is a grease zerk on the bearing carrier. If you can get at a zerk (sometimes there is a opening) put 12 pumps of grease in.
Hope that helps.

If you have problems getting the bearings back in, one thing that will help when you start putting everything back together is using heat on the carrier and cooling the bearings. That makes them pop right in. I can usually just drive them in, but if I do have problems, what I do is, heat my oven to like 350, pop the bearing carrier inside the oven and the bearings in the freezer. Give em 10 minutes and using a gloved hand to hold the carrier slide the bearings into the opening. Has worked on lots of other things as well besides axle carriers.
If your wife is hard on ya because of the smell like mine is then ya might need a heat gun to heat the carrier with instead of the oven, but I like the oven if she isn't there to fuss cause of the ease.

Do you have a photobucket account? If so, you can upload the pics to that site then copy and paste the links here and they will show up. I did it on my first post.
