660 raptor ???
#1
Hey guys, I am currently between quads and I have decided that I want to go ahead and get somthin that will keep me satisfied for a good while, i am 14 5'8 215-220,I was looking on CL and found a NICE 660 raptor for 2100 or 2200, however it is an 01, and if memory serves right wasn't this the model year with the transmission problem? And I if so, do you think it should have already been fixed, a time bomb, or it's not going to fail having been a 12 year old machine, all advice will be greatly appreciated,

That Raptor looks like it has never been ridden, or those pics were taken when it was new. The only ATV's that I have seen that clean were stolen and had been in hiding out until the thieves thought they were in the clear. I would run the serial # with the police dept before purchasing.
The '01 did have the tranny issue, it is a gamble since that Raptor may have low hours and not been ridden enough to blow the tranny. If the tranny does mess up I think it's about $600 to fix it, there are 660 tranny parts galore on ebay to fix it.

My buddy had a Raptor with the tranny problem. Rode the wheels off of it and never did have any tranny issues.
He did update to a 450R.
IMO,"keep me satisfied for a good while" I'd be looking for a quad that started with a "H".
