I have a deposit down on a new raptor. I've got mixed feelings afterreading all the other forums. I've owned yamahas before (warrior and a wolverine) that ran great for me. I just recently sold a 400ex that ran like sh*t. Basically all I ride is trails, the 400 was fine but I missed having reverse and it had the worst ground clearance ever assembled. There wasn't a rock it wouldn't hit. My main quesition is that everyone is saying the front end comes up easy on the raptor, is it similar to how easy the 400's comes up. And would changing the front sproket help combat this (if yes what size should I run)? My next question is what color should I get? I have a blue one on order but I can get a white one sooner. Lastly whats the best way to break in the bike, this is my first new quad all my others were used. Thanks for the help.

I had a 400 and loved it now I have a blue raptor that is ok it has lots of power but doesn't handel as good as my 400 and is alot heavyer it feels the front end doen't stay on the ground worse than the 400 my 400 had a 1 inch longer swingarm which was very nice and if you don't want to wait for the raptor come and get this one

The Raptor is better in every way. Trust me if you like to go fast go witht eh Raptor, the 400ex feels like a toy. And the Raptor does not feel heavy at all. It is a awesome quad.

So does the raptor's front end stay on the ground really well(hills and all) and if i'm not concerned w/speed. I ride mostly trails also and i dont know how much i will really need reverse though. I dotn know whether to spend the extra to get the raptor or save almost 2g's for the 400ex?? help me out if you can

I already had the 400 and I missed the reverse. Many people don't but I'm not into getting off the bike on a tight trail and swinging it around., or dragging it out my garage, etc. Thats one of my main reasons for getting the raptor. 400's..well at least mine ran awful in the cold weather too, which also aggarvated me. Anyone have the answer yet to the benefit of changing the front sprocket, and as to what color i should go with when I pick up my raptor. Thanks everyone.
