Honda is even down grading some models like there 500 Foreman, they did add EFI and EPS but then they give it a weaker cost saving single rear shock when it always was a dual shock straight axle.

Pretty exspensive 500 4x4 to still have no AWD system, drum brake (mechanical one at that) , Straight axle and 28hp OHV motor.

The North American Companies are far ahead on the technological advancements on the ATV front. Polaris and Can Am are just far more aggressive in their approach to ATV's than the Japanese.

I owned a 2012 Polaris and now I own a 2012 Brute Force. I ride with 2011 and 2012 Outy 650's and 800's and 2011 Grizzly 700..even a couple Ranchers in our group. most quads are top quality these days..they all do things well...some do certain things better than others though. Grizzly is a great machine, but I dislike the short wheelbase, seat, bars, and the vibration from the single lung engine..tippy too. Ranchers are old reliable..they work all the time and do just fine at most (not all) things. The Outy's are the most technologically advanced, and most power (mid and top end), but both the Outy and Polaris are heavy and big...I love my Brute as it is by far more sporty and spirited than the others on the trail (much rougher around the edges though...outy and polaris are much smoother, more refined, etc).

They are all good machines...just depends on what you want to use them for...I would think Kawi will come out with something bigger soon....Yamaha also....there are so many Grizzly owners that have been clamoring for a vtwin, it is just a matter of time imo...A grizzly with a v twin, longer wheelbase (than current), would be a very appealing package. Honda is stuck in the past (which is ok too...lots of farmers and ranchers wouldnt trade their Foremans for anything)...that is their strength...reliable, proven, and get the job done. Just not as exciting on the trails for spirited riding

I,d have to say Yamaha,Suzuki and Kawasaki are far ahead of Honda.
For years they had diff lock, low range, disc brakes and only use OHC motors and more and more are moving to DOHC now.

680 Honda Rincon Flag Ship is 39hp the new 550s make that. The old 500s almost make that.
