Whats up everyone, ive been working on getting this quad running good, i got it about a wek ago and yesterday it was running ok, it would start really easy but wouldnt get into high rpms without bogging down. so i ordered a new carb and it came today and i out it in and now it wont start it just turns over and wont even start with starter fluid, so its the new carb right? no i put the old one back on and it still doesnt fire up lol. so ive gone threw everything i can think of, i checked the timing and its perfect, valve adjustment, they were a little tight, its getting plenty of spark, possibly too much fuel, im going to check the compression in a little while but just sitting over night should not create a compression problem! the only other thing i can think is mabe the ignition timing is off? but i have no idea how to check that and havnt been able to find info on it anywhere any ideas?

i also tried starting fluid and it somehow backfired threw the carb and cought the filter box on fire! no damage done from that though put it out fast.

 

Have you tried new spark plug?..You also said value alil tight? IMO most of the time lil tight value could be enuff to hold an value open But you should be able to tell that when ypu check compression tho...

 

I agree i had the same problem and i removed the spark plug and put a new one in and now it runs and starts geat
