Default 90 yamaha moto 4 250

Picked it up for 600 bucks dude throw in a unused 1500 lb winch. Wanna to know somethings about it. Looks pretty stock he said he rebuilt motor some time back. Does have a idle issue. Any part sites or tips or goodies mods, let me know thanks!

Really need a way to mount this wench

good find! happy for ya! as far as idle issues, i reckon it ain't idling? if not, i'd clean the carb/jets for that. or at least that's where i'd start. i don't do mods. i've worked on a moto 4 before, i can't think of a good solid place to mount the winch. may have to fish plate some more metal in there. good luck!

Changed spark plug. Carb needs adjusting but I think maybe the thumb throttle is wore out and lose? Could be some of the cause. I have a question on the transmission setup.

Its Neutral then up 1,2,3,4?
Then Neutral pull the lever all the way back Reverse?
Here what I think this kid didn't know. Its Neutral from reverse up on the lever 1 time 2wd low range then up once more for 2wd high range? Is that correct? Or is it a safety in the middle of that lever. Am thinking high low range.
