Grizzly Shocks Old & New

Grizzly Shocks Old & New
I am a old dude. I have an 02 660 grizzly since new with low miles. I thinking about the shocks and how to get a smoother ride out of it. I don't do jumps or speedy turns, just want something to smooth out the ride. Thought maybe since 02 they might have changed the shocks to some thing different ? Any ideas ?

What preload setting do you have them set on? Might soften them up some. Removing the rear sway bar (6 bolts) might give you some more independent travel range in the rear. I've run mine at several different settings over the years with and without the sway bar on, but cannot remember what difference it actually made in the ride. Its been at the stiffest setting with the sway bar since I got married and occassionally rode double. Hopefully someone chimes in, cause I'd like to see what they say as well.

Both good ideas about things we all forget. A while back I did take off the sway bar , I am thinking it was to give me more rear wheel travel which it did. But I put it back I really don't remember why now. I do use the preload settings on the stock shocks.
I guess I was looking for something new. Like a spring only type ride till you need something stiffer and then shock could be easily pined into place type thing. Maybe we could invent something what do think ?

lowering the preload isn't going to help much because of the spring rate.
how much do you weigh?
what type of riding do you do?
the best thing to do would be to invest in some aftermarket suspension such as elka or fox floats.
these will be valved to your weight and riding style plus they have compression adjustments to soften them up a bit
