Default big bear maintenance

hey everyone, just bought a 1991 yamaha big bear, everything on it is great, only thing it needs to my knowledge is brakes and tie rods, was wondering what is involved to properly maintain this atv? i know oil changes is one of coarse, i am mechanically inclined although i am new to atvs im sure i can figure it all out, thanks

If you have a specific question about something you can ask me. But it would be easier to just get the book.

Good choice if your not mechanically inclined.
I had a used 1989 Yamaha 350 4x4 Big Bear for years and treated it like a red headed step child and I only added gas and did oil changes and diff fluids.
I sold it to a friend who still uses it to this day and all he did was put new tires on it.

Its the reason I bought another 350 4x4 Yamaha in the hopes its just as good, so far so good.

good to hear, i was looking around at a whole bunch of different ones, really wanted a polaris but just to many issues i was reading with them, unless i got a 2000 and up polaris it seemed like it would have problems and those were out of my price range, the big bear i got only needs tie rods and brakes, runs fantastic and strong, doesn't smoke one bit, no noises and shifts great, i will say though i was a little disappointed the other day, me and my girlfriend went out in the snow and she was using my friends 2005 polaris sportsman 400, it made the big bear look like a fool, i got stuck 3 times and just to tease me my girlfriend came up next to me and stopped and then drove circles around me while i was pushing mine out of the snow lol that polaris 4 wheel drive is amazing, but i did feel better because on the way back home the belt went out on the polaris and i got to tow it back, all in all i am very happy with my choice,
