Well I'm thinking it is the solenoid because I can't get a reading on the back of the solenoid where the 3 wires plug into I only get a reading on the front of it where the battery cable bolts on. Would the honda place be able to test it if I took the solenoid up there? I don't want to take the whole bike up there

I have no lights or click. Gonna work on it more today and see if I can find the problem.

One of the 4 prongs on the back of the solenoid had broken off and got stuck in the plug. I ended up trading the bruin off so I'm not 100% certain that's all it was but I'm pretty sure

Have you checked the fuses?

On most Yamahas and Suzukis the positive pickup wire for everything except the starter goes through a fuse on the solenoid, then to the regulator and ignition switch. If anything goes wrong between the solenoid and the regulator, the engine won’t start on the button, nor the lights work but, once running, power from the regulator is working the lights etc. It is usually the solenoid fuse, but can be the solenoid or the wire from fuse to regulator. A bad earth from battery to engine or frame can also give this problem. Test everything with a test lamp, not a multimeter.

Sounds like you have a safety switch failure preventing it from starting. Working with a diagram would be helpful. Easy to get lost in the harness without a schematic.
