I paid $520 and it is a 3 year extension of the factory 6 month warranty less wear and tear items like clutch, brake pads, cables and so forth.

Apparently the tranny parts got to the bottom of the piston, and somehow lodged between the skirt and the cyl. wall. as for the other question, I limped it back to camp in third gear, a couple of miles but that couple of miles was through dunes.

They are fixing it, I dont know if its a repair or new engine yet. The new second gear is apparently alot tougher, and warranty or not I think that if it is an ongoing problem they should fix it as long as I own it. This thing blows up again Im going to throw a fit. I ride with banshees and zillas, they are having alot of fun at my expense.

These are the types of things I would like to know before I spend 7000,00 on a qaud. But it seems nobody wants to answer my questions in here.I know the dealer isn't honest. He said the trx250r is not as fast as a BLASTER.I would rather get a 400ex and be able to ride then get a raptor and have it in the shop all the time.

Knowing what I know now, I would have bought a banshee or a 400ex. Dont get me wrong the raptor is still the ultimate STOCK quad. Yamaha is having problems with reliability, but it is a brand new animal. The banshee is proven by time and likewise with the 400. I would like to believe that the 2002 bikes are updated, and will perform like yz's and ex's time will tell.
This time next year we will be hearing how bad the cannondale is.
