Was riding at the Badlands on Saturday and hit a good size rock. I just ordered new skids, because of the minimal protection the stockers offer. (Learned my lesson)

My question is: what brand and type rotor do guys recommend? (I know I'm not the only one to bend the stock Rotor)

Thanks!

I got an EBC after the moron I bought the bike from seemed t have forgotten a pad...and the disc looked more like a plate than a flat disc...was kinda funny.
Anyways, it was fairly inexpensive (100$cdn), has worked very well (since last september). Being the rear, I wouldn't spend a lot on it. As soon as I touch the brake pedal, my wheels are locked...when the front wheels keep turning when I pull and pull that front lever!! eheh

The banshee has a pretty good protection. It doesn't fit on a Raptor, but I can hit hard and it won't bend. It's a thick steel tubin (1/4"...I think) with one 1/8 plate under disc and sprocket. I hit it very often...and it looks like new...well...almost

Getting back to your replacement rotor, EBC is recomandable (haven't had trouble with mine). If you want something better, Braking has a very very good reputation in the mx domain, and they make std or ovrsized discs. If you are crazy, you can also go with RAD titanium rotors...170$ a piece...uh!

I got a braking rear rotor for mine, since the stock skid lasted about one ride and my rotor got bent. The braking rotor looks very cool. White bros has them $98 out the door at my dealer

I am fairly sure the Titax units are equivalent to the EBC rotors. Titax is big in Europe. They also make sprockets. A rear Stainless unit is in the $50 range too.

I didn't have too many choices at the time, but I've got the EBC. I think it was in the $90-100 range from a local dealer. I would definitely go with the Braking rotor and disks, they are the best you can buy. As for the skid plates, what were you thinking riding with the stockers? I bent my rear rotor with an AC rear skid plate, think what would have happened if I had the stock plastic skid on the quad. Not sure what skid you ordered, but I would suggest going with a skid that isn't welded. Try the formed rear skid. The welds tend to crack, I haven't cracked mine yet, but a buddy has and he is also using an AC.

The toughest skid plates are stainless steel and are made by Pro-tect. They are heavier than aluminum, but last 10X longer.

If you intend on eventually going with a larger rear sprocket, then you'll want to advise them so they can customize the skid plate to fit.

Not sure about the Pro-tect, but the AC unit that I am running fits with plenty of clearance on the 42 rear sprocket.
