The other day I was at a atv dealer looking at some quads because I will be getting one soon, I was looking at the Warrior and 300ex. The sales person I spoke to said that both quads were good and he could give me the same amount off of both quads about 500 making the warrior they had 4500 and the 300ex 4300 which do you guys honestly think is a better buy, they guy said theyre about equal but honda is more reliable, but yamaha still makes a great bike, any input will help thanks guys.

Personally, I would go with the Warrior out of the two. I have an 87, and I like it. The newer ones have only gotten better i've heard. The extra 50cc will give that much more power. I also like the suspension on the Warrior. I've never ridden a 300EX, so I'm not really making comparisons. I'll let someone else do that. But If i had the choice, I'd get the Warrior.

When it comes to reliability, you just can't buy a more reliable quad than the Warrior. I own a 96 warrior, and it has taken a pounding. Sure, I beat the heck out of it, but I also take very good care of it. Routine Maintenance is a must on any machine. I am 6'6" tall, and the 300EX is just way to small for a person my size. I don't know how tall you are, but that could also affect your decision. The 300EX has a more "hi-tech" engine, as it has 4 valves, compared to the Warriors 2 valve engine. The quads, are, in my opinion, very alike, yet very different. The Warrior produces most of it's HP in the lowere RPM's, and I have found that it likes to be lugged along. The 300EX, however, produces most of it's HP in the higher RPM range. I feel that both quads handle very similarly, but the 300 has a slight edge. The chain adjustment on the 300 is much simpler, but if you don't mind an extra 5 mins. adjusting the Warriors chain, it's no big deal. The warrior does have an awkward air filter setup, but as long as you take your time installing the filter, you'll have no probs. When it comes down to it, I suggest the Warrior.

Hope this helps you out. Good Luck

I have a 99 warrior and love it. Even tho its a little bit heavier than the 300ex. I can outbeat any stock 300ex and i got use to the heavyness for jumpin after that its a good rreliable quad.
