Default Slow for 4X light to go off

2005 450 Kodiak with 4X and differential lock. It goes into 4 wheel instantly and the differential lock works fine but when the button is pushed to go back to 2X sometimes it takes forever for the light to go off. I use to could put it in reverse and it would go off pretty much right away. I don't really know if it actually goes back to 2X right away and the light is stuck on or if its still in 4X. While typing this I just thought maybe I could jack all 4 wheels up and see what happens. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions. Thank you.

It does work properly even though the light hardly ever goes off so I'm not going to worry about it.

I,m on my 2nd 350 Grizzly 4x4 and both had a good delay for the 4wd light to go out once you went back to 2wd.

I also quit worrying about it.

To test the 4wd is on or off I just nose up to a tree or wall and give it some gas, you can tell if the front wheels are in the game or not easy enough.
