How hard is it to replace the cv boot (just the boot) on the inside of the wheel. Wanna see if i can do it my self. And where can i find a good set of boot gaurds =)

How long has the boot been torn? If you've ridden on it much, the CV joint will probably fail shortly....

for the boot guards, I reccomend Ox-Lite.

 

I knew right when it happened because of the way i got hng up. I drove back to the truck right then and there, which was a total of 10 mins. The joint was still totally covered in grease so no harm done....just ruined my day of riding. Funny you should mention Oxlite, thats what i bought yesterday. Hope they work. Thanks for the reply man.

Thats good that no major damage was done, the boots are fairly simple to change, it's just a time consuming operation, having to take everything off to get to them. Invest in a reapir manual, and it'll go alot smoother. I hope you'll like the Ox-Lites, alot of people nowadys seem to prefer the Aluminum boot guards because they look better, but it's been my experience that the steel ones (OxLites) are more durable and can take more abuse.
