The ser# on my 89 350 Moto4 was stamped below the frame by the right or left foot beg. Was hard to make out since it hit so many rocks over the years. It was a dumb place to put it I thought.

My VIN is on the left frame side bottom horizontal frame rail.
I agree, what a dumb place to put it as it's the first thing to get hit going over rocks, logs, etc. It took some doing, but I was able to make it all out. That's the JY42HT009HC004706 I posted in the first thread.

Oh, forgot to mention something probably important to ID thwvyear as well. This one does not have a pull rope start option. It's electric start only. Which seems odd for something prior to 1990.

Mine was a red 1987 250 moto 4 it had a pull rope and I see a few more and all had a pull cord.

It looked exactly like this. You could try push starting it.

Would the pull rope be on the left side as most older ATV's? Attached are pics of each side my my Moto 4 engine. No pull rope to be found.

Left hand side. I have come across old Yams without a pull start, but can't remember which models, the Breeze was one. Dealers seem to need details from the white sticker on the frame, under the seat, when you order spares.

No decals under the seat on this one either. Hell, I thought I was doing good tonfindnthe VIN, Engine Number, etc. Thus far, its only caused more confusion....lol

At least OD like to confirm the year. Inused that site you mentioned earlier that stated 1987. I checked some other VIN's off my cars and other ATV's.......that site is all ove r the place. Said my '04 F250 was an '02, wife's Sorento (2011) as a 2012, another ATV confirmed 2000 (anniversary edition) as 1998. That site doesn't seem very reliable.

Alas, I'll figure it out eventually.

Good afternoon.

I am a new member on the site.

I would like to know if someone has a soft copy of the Owners / Service Manual for a Yamaha 350 Moto 4 Quad that is Sprocket dribe and equipped with a PTO. I think it is a 1987 / 1988 Model.

Thank you.
