bear tracker jetting with air box opened
A little ways back I removed the lid from the airbox on my 03 Bear Tracker while out on a ride. It ran so lean that it wouldn't run past about one third throttle. I had to put the lid back on to continue. When I saw the restriction at the beginning of the air intake, I understood why.
I switched the stock main jet from a 95 to a 125 and lowered the needle clip 1 notch and now it runs good with the box open and has a lot more power.
I am posting this as a reference for others and to ask if anyone else has rejetted an otherwise stock Bear Tracker with an opened box - where did you end up? I wasn't able to find any info searching the web.
