Yamaha Warrior
I'm looking at maybe getting a warrior so I can go riding with my friends. I mean they don't ride full speed all the time but I don't want to hold them back too much. I know a stock warrior does about 60 on a good day but what mods would it need to hang with a 400ex bored to 426 and a couple bikes (150 and a 250). Is it even worth it? I realize they aren't race quads and they're suspension is like a tank. The reason I'm looking at a warrior is cause they fit my limited budget. Insight? Would a blaster be any better?

I had a 1993 model years ago.
Warriors are good trail bikes with enough motor, shocks and brakes that you should be able to maintain a brisk pace on one. They're most at home in open country and with the shocks on the right settings they are a comfortable ride; at lower speeds in tighter woods trails the chassis feels a bit long and heavy, not as nimble as a 400EX or one of the 450-class motocross machines.
If your buddies on modded 400s and 450s like to ride fast and hard, you will have a difficult time keeping up on a Warrior; this is due as much to the chassis as the available engine power. It's not a race bike. In my opinion a Warrior is just not as much fun when ridden absolutely flat-out, they are better suited as a trail machine ridden at 85% or so.
