Raptorrider2001- I am not going to be able to make this trip, wish i were. Part of getting the raptor included a trip with the wife. She picked this weekend. Hope to ride with everyone soon.

They are doing it under warranty. When second gear went away, it shot parts all through the motor. One chunk hit the lower part of the cylinder and cracked it. There is not a rotating part in that motor that does not have a chunk taken out of it. The raptor the shop did right before mine, got the old gear put into it. Since then yamaha has developed a new gear, harder, different material (unobtainium or something) that is supposed to hold up to the torque. The teeth are staying on it, its the holes in the side that the shift dogs engage into that goes away.

Raptor660RNH,

Just bent the side guards on the skidplate down. Everything seemed line up.
