I don't understand why people think the banshee can't take highway speeds for extended periods of time. Wasn't the RZ350 a street bike with the same engine as the banshee? I can't imagine any street bike not being able to maintain a speed of 75mph for at least 45 minutes to be worth a dime. Didn't they used to road race the RZ350? I don't want to get into a bunch of scientific priciples that I know nothing about but as I see it the only differences between the RZ 350 and the banshee is ...
A- the RZ has a powervalve that allows the egine to produce its power a little differently from the banshee
B- road drag. the banshee would have much more road contact with the wider tires
C- gearing. the gearing on the bike with its narrow tall tires would be considerably different.

all of that being said, installing a power valve, changing the tires, and adjusting the gearing are basics when it comes to modification and would not even require a huge amount of knowhow.

It would seem that our teen aged friend wants a banshee for his first vehicle, rather than a car. As long as it is legal to ride a quad on the roads of Canada, I support you in your goal. Realize this however... riding to the coner store down some side street is not even close to riding on the highway for extended periods of time. They in fact could not be more different. I had a street bike and I ode it often but even with all of my experience I wouldn't ride it on the highway. There's just too much going on.
Let me know if quads can be street legal in your province. Maybe I'll legalize my banshee there.
