Hello. First post here. I have a '93 YFM350ER (MOTO4) thats shifting strange. The transmission is shifing into gear before I release the foot shifter. I used to be able to hold the shifter up/down and the atv would stay out of gear until I released the peddle. Now whenever I hold the peddle down it goes right into gear before releasing the peddle.

Any idea what would cause this?

 

Clutch adjustment.

Tightening. The foot pedal is both gear and clutch lever, so as you press it, it lifts the clutch and changes gear, as you lift off the pedal the clutch re-engages.
