Dynojet kit/without air box lid

You can't run without the lid unless you get the pro-design filter kit. You will suck dirt real quick because the lid holds the filter in place in the stock configuration. Although there are some guys in here that are screwing their filters to the airbox but I don't recommend that. As for running right, it will run much better as long as it is jetted properly. I would go another size or two above dynojets recommendations to compensate for the removed lid.

RaptorZone,great web page.
It's clear you know your way around a Raptor. I have the same question, I have a ProDesign filter installed, but am running with the lid on until I get a Dynojet Kit and some idea how to adjust for an open box. My guess is 1 - 2 sizes up on the main jets from Dynojet's recommendation, at least as a start point. What do you think?

Thanks. Sounds like your on the right track. Just keep stepping up the main jets until it is right. Also, if it seems flat at mid throttle, raise your needles a notch and/or change the pilots. You may have to open up the mixture screw a bit too if it doesn't idle well. Ideally, you will want a light brown and dry insulator on you spark plug. If it looks dark and wet you have went too far. Its all about trial and error. Before checking the plug be sure to make a good high speed run and then shut the motor off immediately and pull the plug to get a good accurate reading.
