Default bruin recoil

I bought my daughter an 08 Bruin. Changing all the fluids and giving it a once over before we take it out I noticed the recoil handle doesn't seal all that well on the housing. Both haves are tapered so the seal breaks easy. Is this an issue on Yamahas? I know with the Sportmans any leakage past the recoil handle can cause all sorts of expensive electrical issues. Is the same true for this model? or does Yamaha have a better system

On the 350 Yam engine the recoil housing is just bolted onto the outside of the engine cases, nothing inside it but recoil parts, and an oil seal on the rotating part to keep water out of engine, and oil in. The recoil mechanism is a bit inclined to get rusty and stiff inside on most 350 Yams, but nothing else.

She's not going to be able to use the recoil anyway. My wife's Bruin and my Kodiak has so much compresion she'll never be able to pull it if needed.
