Hello:
I believe I have correctly decoded at least some of my VIN on this Yamaha. The VIN number is so thin, and it's rusted under there. I've tried baby power, rubbing with charcoal onto paper, but nope.

I think the W - 1998. The only thing is, I cannot tell if this is a 250cc, or what? It's a 2 stroke I think?
Anyway, I'm needing to know for sure the engine size, and maybe some of you with VIN decoding skills can help me out here please?
Couple of things:
The thing starts, but it is smoking. I mean, like bad. What causes this?
The other thing is the engine on/off button, well it's permanently stuck in the on or run position. I can't kill the engine with it. I sprayed some WD40 in there thinking it was just needing loosening up, but it's not budging. Does that mean total replacement?
Thanks for the help. I'm a neophite still with this stuff.
